Artist Spotlight: James Bama
James Bama was born in Manhattan in
1926. His first professional sale, at the age of 15, was a drawing
of Yankee Stadium for the New York Journal-American. Bama had
a 22-year career as a successful commercial artist in New York City,
producing paperback book covers, movie posters and illustrations for
such publications as Argosy, The Saturday Evening Post
and Reader's Digest. His numerous clients included the New
York Giants football team, the Baseball and Football Halls of Fame,
and the U.S. Air Force. In 1968 he moved to Wyoming, where he used
his American Realist sensibilities to document the contemporary American West
in paintings and in prints.
The prints that we are offering to the
public are limited edition, most of them signed by the artist. All of them have been pre-framed with archival
mounting and UV-blocking glass. Shipping can be arranged for an additional fee. All proceeds will
support the operating budget of the museum and its programs.
Photos
will be available shortly. Call for more information during regular business hours or come in to see them in person!
