SUMMARY:Early Days of Bend Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:EARLY DAYS OF BEND walking tour\n\nTravel back to when the river ran wild\, Ponderosa pines were plentiful and Bend the Beautiful was a town in the making. Learn about early Bend through the stories of six “Bendites” and how these residents helped transform a young hamlet into a booming town.\nThe Deschutes Historical Museum provides heritage walking tours of historical significance around Bend’s historic downtown district\, neighborhoods\, and sites Saturdays May through August. All tours leave the museum at 10:30 a.m. and are led by knowledgeable and trained museum volunteers. Tours are subject to change and cancellation\, operating rain or shine.  For more information call 541-389-1813 or email info@deschuteshistory.org\nREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as space is limited\nTours begin at the Deschutes Historical Museum and ends at Lone Crow Bungalow on Wall Street.\nTime: 10:30 a.m.\, approximately 90 minutes\nLength: Less than a mile traveling through old neighborhoods and parkways. The sidewalks can be uneven at times.\n$15 General\nDHM members FREE\nWe recommend wearing comfortable shoes\, dress for the weather\, and bring water.\nParking is available at the museum.
