SUMMARY:Reflections of History: An Architectural Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:REFLECTIONS OF HISTORY: An Architectural Walking Tour\nStroll through the Drake Park Neighborhood Historic District and go back in time when walking was the thing to do and neighborhoods were all about proximity to town. Participants will be introduced to the architectural styles represented in the neighborhood\, coupled with stories of changing times in a growing community.\nThe Deschutes Historical Museum provides walking tours of historical significance around Bend’s historic downtown district\, neighborhoods\, and sites Saturdays May through August. All tours leave the museum at 10:30 a.m. and are led by knowledgeable and trained museum volunteers. Tours are subject to change and cancellation\, operating rain or shine. For more information call 541-389-1813 or email info@deschuteshistory.org\nREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as space is limited.\nTours begin and end at the Deschutes Historical Museum.\nTime: 10:30 a.m.\, approximately 90 minutes\nLength: 1-mile walking through historic neighborhoods. The sidewalks are uneven at times.\n$15 General\nDHM members FREE\nWe recommend wearing comfortable shoes\, dress for the weather\, and bring water.\nParking is available at the museum.

What was here when…?” Join Vanessa Ivey\, Museum Manager\, as she leads a Property Research Workshop-“What Was At That Address?” sharing her tricks and tips of uncovering property history\, Saturday May 23\, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Deschutes Historical Museum’s research library.\nRegistration is required as space is limited. $50 per person\, CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nVanessa will expand on an earlier workshop she led in 2021 on researching rural properties and include ways to track down urban homes and businesses within Bend’s city limits.
