EARLY DAYS OF BEND walking tour
Travel back to when the river ran wild, Ponderosa pines were plentiful and Bend the Beautiful was a town in the making. Learn about early Bend through the stories of six “Bendites” and how these residents helped transform a young hamlet into a booming town.
The Deschutes Historical Museum provides heritage walking tours of historical significance around Bend’s historic downtown district, neighborhoods, and sites Saturdays May through August. All tours leave the museum at 10:30 a.m. and are led by knowledgeable and trained museum volunteers. Tours are subject to change and cancellation, operating rain or shine. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as space is limited
Tours begin at the Deschutes Historical Museum and ends at Lone Crow Bungalow on Wall Street.
Time: 10:30 a.m., approximately 90 minutes
Length: Less than a mile traveling through old neighborhoods and parkways. The sidewalks can be uneven at times.
$15 General
DHM members FREE
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water.
Parking is available at the museum.
