Deschutes County Property Resources

Deschutes County is one of the few counties statewide that has made their records available digitally. Searching for property deeds and records can easily be done from home.

The Historic Oregon Newspapers site allows you to search and access complete content for historic Oregon newspapers that have been digitized through the University of Oregon library. This full-text searchable database contains almost 2,400,000 pages from Oregon newspapers dated 1846-2023, with more material being added continually.

Library of Congress, Digital Collection

The Library of Congress (LOC) is another helpful online resource. The LOC has digitized Sanborn Insurance maps from the turn of the 19th/20th century, which are very helpful in understanding the use of different buildings and what they were made from.
