Cordelia Rose
Born in a foundling hospital, Cordelia knew only deprivation and coldness. Beatings and cold porridge were the hallmarks of her foundational years. She hasn’t forgotten the deprivation, and she won’t let you forget either.
Miranda
Miranda’s neatly turned ankles and long, glossy braids were the envy of all her peers. Alas, she was taken too young by smallpox, her beautiful milky complexion marred by scars, her body wracked with fever and disease. Now her soul lives eternally in miniature, a reminder of beauty lost.
Lilith
Some say that rosy-cheeked Lilith was born without a conscience or a soul. Her cherubic face was at odds with her delight in the suffering of others. Black crepe would better suit her than the gauzy pink trifles she always wears, but like a poisonous spider, she lures her victims with her beauty.
Ruth
Like her long-suffering biblical namesake, Ruth’s life was as severe as her hairstyle and as cold as the bitter winters of her birthplace in the Dakotas. At sixteen, her puritanical parents married her off to a dour widower with seven children after they discovered her secret romance with a French-Canadian fur trapper. Ruth’s young dreams were quashed and her life became one of loveless drudgery. It is no wonder her restless spirit still wanders the halls of DCHS, dreaming of a life she was never to have.
